| General Information |
| Type of Mail Server |
You can select either POP3/SMTP or IMAP/SMTP. IMAP is preferred over POP3 because POP3 duplicates the email messages in your local email client, and you read only the contents of your INBOX folder from the server, while IMAP will connect directly to all your folders and email messages in the mail server without downloading the messages locally unless you want to.
If you are not familiar with these protocols, please search the Internet for the phrase "IMAP vs POP3" to find the best suited to your needs. |

| Leave a Copy of The Messages on Server |
This is up to you. If selected, your messages will be duplicated in your mail program and in the server, and they may not be deleted ever even if you delete them from your local email program. This means that the messages in the server will keep using you available space until you reach your limit.
On the other hand, if you delete the messages from the server, and if you read your mail from 2 different locations, only the one that reads them first will get a copy of the message. |
