The Problem. Currently, the most commonly used method to control spam are filters. They apply several criteria to incoming emails to identify spam. The problem is that spammers are getting smarter, and they are using a number of techniques to circumvent the filters. The result is that spam bypasses the filters and some is delivered to your inbox, and even worse, legitimate messages are also misidentified as spam. It has always bothered our team that the only thing anybody needs in order to send you a message is to know your email address and then fool the filter in use, which is clearly not very difficult. This is like leaving the door of your house open and letting unknown people in to show questionable material to you and your family. Our Solution. It is time to place the doorman FIGTSPAMtmat the entrance to your inbox and only let people known to you in. We accomplish this by creating a list of approved senders, and by providing you with the tools to keep that list updated with only people you trust. New Senders. What happens with people who want to contact you, but are not in your approved list of senders? In this case their message is not initially delivered to your inbox. Our system returns a message to the sender, and asks him/her to access a web page. On that web page the sender must answer one of the questions you had placed there (e.g. city where you live). Only people who know you will be able to answer correctly, so this is a challenge response system, just better. After a correct response, your previously defined Passcode will be provided to the sender along with simple instructions on how to use it. Then all he/she has to do is include this Passcode in the Subject line or in the message body and send the message again. Now our system will deliver the message to you, and add the sender's email address to your approved list of senders. This will give this sender access to send you messages in the future until you remove it from the approved list. Personalized Contact-Me Web Form. Another great feature in our system is that if a person fails three times to answer one of your defined questions during one day, that screen is disabled until the next day. This person is also provided with a personalized Contact-Me Internet form where he/she can write you a brief message and provide you with a reply email address. This feature does not pose a major risk to your computer because it allows only one email per day and per IP Address, and it does not allow the sender to add attachments. Furthermore, in the remote event that this screen is found by spammers, you have the option to disable this functionality. Alias Email Accounts. If the foregoing is not enough, you can also create temporary Alias email addresses, that are forwarded to your real email account. Our clients find Alias accounts particularly useful for Internet shopping or for communicating with unknown persons or companies. Reports and Additional Filters. We also assist you with several reports to help you track the rejected spam and the questions responded. As an additional tool, we let you define banned words and block IP addresses to eliminate unwanted messages in the remote event that spam passes the main protection system. Our patent-pending spam control system FIGTSPAMtm is by far the best method because it is based on true or false conditions, and not in filters rating the messages. Filters help, but they DO NOT solve the problem. Our method works so well because it requires manual intervention by new senders, closing the door to the millions of automatically-generated spam messages sent from servers flooding the Internet.
