Q: Where can I send my payment if it is either a check or a money order?
Suncoast Secure Mail
P.O. Box 49024
Tampa, FL. 33646-0113

Q: What happens if a spammer ever guesses one of the questions and sends me spam?
This is very unlikely because it is not worth it for them to do any manual activity like answering questions. They mainly use servers to send millions of emails per day keeping their cost very low. If there is manual intervention to send every email, their cost increases.
Q: What about if the spammers use servers to answer automatically my questions until they get a correct answer?
A distorted word needs to be manually typed before showing the person the defined questions. Also, only three answers per person and per day are allowed. After three unsuccessful answers, the screen is disabled until the next day.

Q: What can I do if I start receiving spam via the contact-me Internet form?
In the very unlikely event that this happens, you can remove the spammer's email from the approved list, change the Passcode, and change or replace the question that was answered, and your email will be protected again.

Q: What happens if I start receiving spam via the contact-me Internet form?
This is very unlikely because it is not worth it for them to do any manual activity like filling up forms. They mainly use servers to send millions of emails per day keeping their cost very low, but in the remote event that this happens, you can disable the contact-me Internet form.

Q: What does FIGTSPAM means?
FIGTSPAMtm is a trademark of Suncoast Secure Mailtm and its acronym means Find, Grab and Terminate Spam by using a Personal Authorization Method. FIGTSPAMtm is a patent-pending innovative and efficient spam control system not based on filters. To learn more about FIGTSPAMtm please visit the link menu The Idea.

Q: Can I pick any domain name I want for my personalized email?
As long as it is not taken, you can pick any domain name for your personalized email account that you desire. e.g. smithfamily.com. When you select one, we will let you know if it is available or not.

Q: Does it matter what PC I use to read my email?
If you check your email in our website, you should not have any problem. The only requirements are that you have Internet access, javascript and cookies enabled in your browser. If you read your email using an external email client programs like Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora, you should check for the minimum system requirements of each one of these programs.

Q: Can my email messages be saved in the local disk?
If you use an external email client program such as Outlook, Outlook Express or Eudora your email messages will be saved in your local computer. If you configure your external email client program to leave the mail in the server, your email messages will be saved in the server and in your personal computer too. Please consider that if you leave your email messages in the server, they will be using the space allocated to you and eventually will reach the minimum space allowed disabling your account until you remove some of them.

Q: Why can't I send email messages to myself nor approve my own email address?
Sending email messages to your own account has been disabled, because spammers use the common trick of faking the "From:" address making it your own email delivered to yourself (example: From: joe@suncoastsecure.com To joe@suncoastsecure.com) to fool approved lists of senders, assuming that your own email address will be approved. If you need to send a message to your own account, the way around is to create an alias email and send messages to the alias. In this way, the email will be delivered to you and your main account is still protected.

Q: Can I import or export my Address Book from/to Suncoast Secure Mail?
There is functionality to import and export the address book under the link Addresses in the top menu of the Inbox.

Q: How can I make sure that the newsletters that I subscribe will be delivered to my inbox?
When you know what email address the newsletter is coming from, you can add it to your Approved List of Senders in advance. If you only know the domain where the newsletter is coming, you can approve any email from the domain until you know the address where it came and then update the entry in the Approved List of Senders with the actual address i.e. *.newsletter.com will accept mail from any sender of the newsletter.com domain. If you don't know the address or domain where the message is coming from, you can create an alias email and have your newsletter delivered to it. Another option is to disable FIGTSPAMtm around the time where you expect the newsletter, but you will get spam messages as well in the period of time that the spam control system is off. Finally, if you don't mind loosing the first newsletter, you can monitor the Rejected Mails Log and approve the email address once you see the first rejection in the detail of the report.

Q: Why do you have an address book and an Approved List of Senders? They both seem to be similar. Why don't you use the Address Book as your Approved List of Senders?
The system cannot use the Address Book as an Approved List of Senders because it allows you to approve whole domains with an asterisk in the first position. Also, if you read your email using an external email client program like Outlook, you don't need an online Address Book, but you still need a list of Approved senders. There will be soon functionality to copy the emails from the Address Book to the Approved List of Senders and back.

Q: How can I configure Outlook Express, Outlook, Eudora or any other email client program to read my email from Suncoast Secure Mail?
Please click here to see some tutorials to know how to configure email client programs. Please remember that free accounts can only read email but not send from external email client programs. If you have a free account, you will be given permission to send email only from the Internet interface or from email client programs once you make your payment.

Q: . Does Suncoast Secure Mail works with Mozilla?
It will work with any email client program that supports POP3, IMAP, and SMTP. Mozilla supports all of these.

Q: Where is the Address Book in my PC or in the Suncoast Secure Mail servers?
If you use an external email client program like Outlook, it will be in your PC. If you use the Internet email interface, it will be stored in our servers. Please note that you may have both.

Q: Does Suncoast Secure Mail allows me to send mail to multiple people and add attachments?
Yes, from both email client programs like Outlook and using our Internet Interface too.

Q: Do you have problems receiving attachments?
No, but it may take a long time to receive large attachments, and they must not exceed your free space in your account. There are also alternative ways to deliver large attachments to you or others without using email inbox space. It can be for example uploading to websites like http://www.gigasize.com/ (free) and then send only the link to the receiving party.

Q: Is there any size limit for attachments?
The size limit for attachments using our Internet interface is 4MB. There is no size limit if you use an external email client program like Outlook, but it may take a long time to receive large attachments and they must not exceed your free space in your account. There are alternative ways to deliver large attachments to you or others without using email inbox space. It can be for example uploading to websites like http://www.gigasize.com/ (free) and then send only the link to the receiving party.

Q: Can you send email to groups?
We have Groups functionality in the Internet website. They are built with email addresses from your Address Books. If you are using an external email client program like Outlook, please check the help within each program.

Q: After configuring Outlook, it was unable to send a test message, claiming the following: “Unable to send test Message. Please verify the E-mail.” What was the problem?
This was not really a problem. FIGTSPAMtm does not let you send email to yourself because that is a trick used by spammers to circumvent approved list of senders. Please ignore this message and send a test email directly from your inbox to another test account, and then reply from that test account back to your Suncoast Secure Mail account to make sure the configuration was correct.

Q: How can I change my account password?
Login into your account and in the Inbox click the top link Options. Then click on Change Password. Some email client programs also allow you to change the password remotely. If you are using an email client program like Outlook, please check the help section to see if it supports remote password change.

Q: A default Passcode was generated for me when I created my account. Should I change it?
Not necessarily, but it may be a good idea to have a friendlier and easy to remember Passcode in case you want to give it to your contacts.

Q: How many letters can the Passcode have? Can it be a phrase?
It must have anywhere between 8 and 20 characters, and it may be a word or a phrase. "Hello Brother" or "Superuser8" are valid Passcodes. Passcodes are case sensitive.

Q: What format do I need to export my Address Book from my email client program (Like Outlook) to import it into Suncoast Secure Mail?
The file must have extension csv (Comma Separated Values).

Q: When I exported my Address Book from my email client program (Like Outlook) to a csv file, it generated a file very large exceeding 5K in the Import functionality of Suncoast Secure Mail. What was the reason?
When you export your csv file, you must select only the fields that you are going to need in Suncoast Secure Mail (not all the fields). The fields that you want to export are the following: First and Last name (or name if bonded together), email, comments/info and nickname. If any of these fields is not available, it can be left out. If after selecting only these fields the file still larger than 5K, you can split the file in several parts and import each one separate.

Q: Can I read my mail on all my networked computers? Is it included in the price that I pay for the service?
Yes to both questions. Any computer connected to the Internet must be able to read your email. If you use email client programs (like Outlook) to read your email, you need to configure it in each computer where you want to read it. If you configured your email client program to don't leave the messages in the server, the messages will be downloaded to the first computer that connects to our servers. If you may read your messages from many locations, it is probably better to use the Internet email.

Q: Can I create subfolders to organize my mail?
Our Internet mail interface allows you to create sub folders. After you log in to your account, select Folders in the top menu from the Inbox. If you use an email client program (like Outlook), please consult the help option. Must all of the email client programs will let you create folders.
